This has been a long week. We took into already over crowded foster homes 3 moms with litters...one who gave birth Nov 29 2012 on cold concrete and no shelter from the cold at a local kill shelter. I failed to find a safe haven for two adult males however and I am morning the thought of them going to the kill shelter tomorrow...

In the photo you will see Mia who gave birth to 9 pups on Thanksgiving Day 2012,  two weeks after coming to us...she lost one pup but has accepted 6 others after their mother was shot and killed after she attacked a horse - of course someone dumped her to try and survive on her own...and to give birth to her babies in the best place she could find...very very sad...

Sybil

Today July 6, 2010 we visited our local kill shelter. We left with a small Min Pin mix we decided to name Sybil.

Sybil, a 10 to 12 year old girl was left at the shelter with damaged and severely infected eyes. We took her directly to our vet Dr. Allison Climber and the diagnosis was not good for poor sweet Sybil.

Sybil's eye issue was not a birth defect but injury of some sort...possibly even a purposely man made injury. Filled with infection and the area around her head sunken in, she loo...
