This is Georgia. Circle Of Hope K9 Rescue was alerted to this poor girls plight just a few days ago (Jan 18, 2012) by wonderful people who gave her shelter and care after she was callously dumped by an uncaring owner. Her skin is severly infected, she has a terrible yeast infection in her ears...she dripped blood as she walked...we are determined to bring this girl to a FULL recovery and find her a wonderful forever family!! Please help us help Georgia!! She will needs weeks of treatment and care!!!

Daddy Dog and puppies

On Oct 27, 2011 a cold rainy cloudy day, I was on my way to our vet's office I got a call about a mom and pups fending for them self in the middle of nowhere. so far away I called loyal COH volunteer Pam to run out and check on them - see what we could do.
Pam called me an hour later - she had found them alright but it was not Mama Dog guarding her pups in the middle of a field but Daddy Dog! Five soaking wet babies that should have been nursing mom were trying to nurse from Daddy! Daddy was doing his best to keep them safe, but with no shelter and an ice cold rain coming down he wasn't having much luck.
It only took a moment of offering food to get Daddy and pups to let down their guard and allow themselves to be saved!
Safe sound and dry now pups and Dad are doing well! However - Daddy Dog is completely DEAF! Soon we will know he is heartworm positive or not so offer prayers that he is not please!
We have photos to post however the site is not cooperating right now - we will add when we can!

Dog Hoarding Case 9-24-11

Saturday Sept 24, 2011 we responded to a call for help. We discovered between 35 - 40 dogs in deplorable conditions. I have posted but one of the video's of many taken that day. There are several puppies and adults. These poor souls are in desperate need of medical attention and foster homes.
If you can help with a donation of any size it will be put to proper use or are able to foster please contact us.

May 13,2011 Intakes: 2 moms and 17 puppies

Today we removed 2 mtoher dogs and 17 puppies from a local kill shelter. One female having 9 pups of about 8 weeks of age and one female having 4 newborns. We also took four pups of about 6 weeks of age that did not have a mother with them.
The mom for the litter of nine is in poor health but will recover. She tested positive for heartworm and will need sponsorship for treatment.
The mom of the newborns tested negative for heartworm however she was severly dehydrated and also in poor condition.
All of the pups appear to be healthy thanks to their moms - not their prior human owners. Mom's are in poor condition from giving them everthing they need while getting little care themselves.
The older pups will be available for adoption in about 3-4 weeks. They do need sponsors to help with their vetting costs.

This is Jesse.

Although we are flat broke and have ungodly vet bills...I am still glad the Milan Police Dept called me about this guy. He is about 6-8 months of age a Shepherd mix and my best guess he was caught in a steel trap....both back legs. He CAN walk but it pains him and he of course would rather not walk if he doesn't have to. He is anemic and feels horrible...but I will doctor him best I can...I think we will be good...I know I should have said no...I know that...but he is hurt and it is so hard so very hard... He may have a fracture on one back paw but the wounds need to be kept exposed to allow for healing. We brought Trooper in Feb 12, 2011...an early but wonderful Valentines gift is what he is!

Jesse is healed and 100% ready to find his forever home!!

Please do not let Abby linger any longer!

Abby is all healed and adopted!!! She did NOT lose her leg thanks to much determination and will!!!!

Rescue Dogs week ending 9-24-10

We are so happy to tell the world of a wonderful rescue week!! Rescues pulling together to SAVE! This week 14 dogs ages 6 6 months and up were pulled from our local kill shelter and COH was able to secure places in other rescue organizations for them!!
